BetMakers acquires Racelab Global assets

BetMakers Technology Group has completed the acquisition of assets from Racelab Global, an international supplier of racing wagering products and technologies.

Under the acquisition agreement, BetMakers will pay a total consideration of AU$1.5m (£779,316/€910,620/US$977,501) to take ownership of the Racelab assets. However, there is a clawback clause of up to $500,000, dependent on key customer obligations within 30 days of closing.

BetMakers said that the deal represents a “highly strategic acquisition” for the business. It adds race form, preview and statistics technology to its ecosystem, as well as proprietary fixed-odds pricing technology and associated algorithms.

Racelab assets include ProForm informatics and enhanced content and Odds Engine pricing and trading technology.

Global Tote agrees contract extension with Meadowlands Racing

BetMakers' Global Tote division has agreed to a ten-year contract extension with Meadowlands Racing and Gaming.

The extension will see Global Tote continue to provide pari-mutuel betting technology to the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey and Winners Bayonne Off-Track Wagering. This includes its SaaS solution for pari-mutuel wagering, consisting of the Quantum tote engine and cloud-based hosting.

The SaaS solution also includes system operations and operational support on-site. The systems operations are managed by Global Tote’s operations centre in New Jersey.

The extension means that the Meadowlands will receive Global Tote’s newest BetLine Series wagering terminals. These are the BetLine TSST, which are for teller point of sale and self-service betting and the BetLine SST for full-service betting. The Meadowlands will also receive the BetLine Compact Teller terminal.

News Corp venture adjusts wagering plans with TexBet acquisition

News Corp Australia and Tekkorp’s new NTD Pty wagering venture will acquire assets from local operator TexBet, as part of a change to its agreement with betting supplier BetMakers.

NTD agreed to purchase certain assets owned by O’Shea Bookmaking Pty, which trades as TexBet, with support from BetMakers. TexBet is a long-standing SaaS platform customer of BetMakers.

Effective from completion of the sale of TexBet, BetMakers shall receive ownership and IP rights for the betting platform technology currently owned by TexBet, while BetMakers will also support the migration of TexBet users to the NTD platform.

This follows an initial deal, agreed in April when the NTD venture was first announced, which stated that News Corp will run the venture with backing from gambling executives Matt Davey of Tekkorp and Matt Tripp, while BetMakers’ technology will drive NTD.
